star_trails

Taken at my home in Bowie with a tripod-mounted Canon EOS Digital
Rebel XTi, f/13 55 exposures at 30 seconds each ("tripled" to solidify
the trails and processed in Photoshop to eliminate skyglow), ISO 1600,
focal length 100mm, beginning at 9:51pm Saturday, October 20, 2007,
for about an hour total. Camera was aimed (at 9:51) in the direction
where Aries, Taurus, and Perseus meet, including Algol (bright white
streak at the upper left) in the field of view. The field of view is
about 10 degrees by 15 degrees. The dottedness of the trails comes
both from processing and the twinkling of the stars.
