HAL Public Solar Viewing at Howard County's 8th Annual Greenfest 4/18/2015
HAL will have solar telescopes set up in the Quad area nearest to the Burrill Galleria.
With the Sun at its peak activity, it has been putting on a show of violent magnetic storms. The view through a Solar telescope
reveals prominences projecting from the edge of the Sun that consist of flares of ionized gases being ejected into space while,
on the face of the Sun, other flares show up as writhing filaments and sunspots. The constantly changing spectacle through a
Sun filter instantly convinces that the Sun is a living thing.

HAL's Solar telescopes will be set up in the lower right corner of the Quad nearest the Galleria.
