May 30, 2009 Public Star Party Report
Last night's Public Star Party was an overwhelming success. We had about 15
telescopes available and plenty of people eager to chat and look through the
scopes. The skies were clear for the most part with seeing a little
variable, but there were still plenty of opportunities for clear views. The
emphasis was on Saturn and the Moon. In addition, we had 2 of our new
members show up with families for Q&A for the group.
It was nice to be out WITHOUT all the winter gear on. Even though it did
cool off a little, jackets took care of the chill. When I left around
midnight, there were still 4 people "looking at the stars". Thanks to Wayne
for wrapping up the late viewing part of the evening.
