4-12-2008 Star Party Report

Last night's Star Party at Alpha Ridge was to say a little cloudy with some clear spots here and there to peek at the Moon, Saturn, etc. We also had some new faces (all these new names) which suggests we must be doing something right. At least I got one new name down, probably helps because it's the same as mine. We also had to deal with some wind, but on the good side, the temperature was great.  Anything above 50 is fine with me.

On the sad side, after everyone left it was me and Ed, we packed up and looked up and the sky was 90% clear-go figure. It was nice to see new and old faces last night but to see more I guess we'll need milder weather (not many polar bears?)

Looking forward to next meeting this Thursday.  By the way, did anyone see me in the Howard Co Times for being at GreenFest?  I did the least and got on page 8, only pix from GreenFest I saw.

Early arrivals setting up

Does that Celestron box mean new glass? That sure is a shiny Celestron 17A-Hr Tank!

Maybe size does matter!

Is this what Attila Danko means by poor seeing?

Hey, check out my new Portaball
