We had a sizzling star party last night! About 20 of us were there, and despite a thick haze we were able to see some of the shadow transit and got glimpses of the Great Red Spot. I even took a few pictures. A few brave members of the public also braved the mosquitoes and stopped by to see what could be seen.

Our next scheduled star party is August 18th, but watch this mailing list--there's always the chance we'll have an impromptu party if we get some good weather before that. And Marc is planning a trip to Piney Mountain on Sunday August 12 for the Perseids, weather permitting.
