Lunar Eclipse Event at HCC on 3/3

A quick note of thanks to all the HAL folks who came out tonight to help with the the joint HCC/HAL eclipse viewing. Despite the heavy cloud cover, we had tremendous public turnout - about 200 people all told. There were about 15 to 20 HAL folks there, and lots of scopes. Unfortunately, the clouds prevented us from seeing any of the eclipse and from showing even the Moon or Saturn in the scopes for people. However, it was cool to have even a disappointing star party at such a great venue - the HCC folks were also excited about having future joint events there too. That parking garage rooftop is a tremendous location, we had no lights in our eyes and near perfect horizons all the way around.

In the meantime, don't put those scopes back into cold storage just yet - HAL's next star party is just 3 weeks from tonight, on March 24th, at Alpha Ridge.
